Ghanaian artist and preacher Kwame Akoto (born 1950 in Kumasi), better known as Almighty God, has developed a pictorial practice alongside his occupation as a sign painter since the early 1970s. This prolific body of work combines spiritual messages, self-portraits, portraits of celebrities, and scenes of everyday life in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, where he is based.
