Kamila Stanclová: Days and Dreams by Fedor Kriska / ISBN 9788080857882 / big 208-page hardcover from Slovart (in Slovakia), 9.6 x 12 inches, text in English
A beautiful book, in the same format as this publisher's book on Dusan Kallay.
This book maps the author’s artistic development since her graduation from the Academy of Fine Arts in all disciplines and art techniques, including painting, graphics, ex libris, drawing, book illustration, and post stamps. Reflecting the recent inspirations in her painting from the themes of cabaret and variety, this study displays the dominant role as played by masks and costumes, which demonstrate hypocrisy and pharisaic attitude. In the featured picture metaphors, as in graphic letters, the artist’s preferences for free laws of imagination, fantasy, and her expression’s own logic are revealed.
